Cosmetic Surgery Referral Network

At FaceLiftMDs.com, we can guide you towards plastic surgeons that have experience producing natural face lift results. Each one of our surgeons is board certified in the plastic surgery specialty. Our current list of qualified and board certified plastic surgeons, is small but growing. mostly because there are so few surgeons who have mastered this very sophisticated procedure (see About Face Lifts for reason)

All our plastic surgeons are also specialized in other Plastic Surgery procedures, so make sure to specify any other procedure that might interest you so that we can match all the procedures that interest you when you inquire here: Contact Us

Our network is a close community, sharing advances and formulas for success so that you may be the recipient of the knowledge of our many surgeons combined. – It’s like having a second, third and fourth opinion all in one!

How We Match You

Once you’ve filled our simple information form, we’ll then begin the process of determining an appropriate, qualified surgeon to best suit your needs. We will need your location as well as your age to understand the typical issues you may be facing. We also want, in your own words, what you consider to be the most pressing aging issues around your facial area. (Circles under the eyes, sagging cheeks, furrowed brow, etc.). We’d also like to know whether you have had any previous facelift procedures, injectables, or alternative facial procedures. Based on all of that information, we can then narrow down the surgeon best suited for your needs.

How we match you

From there, the process begins with a consultation arranged shortly thereafter with the office of one of our trusted surgeons. It’s that easy! The consultation will determine the next steps, whether that is to schedule your first office consultation for a natural Face Lift, or whether alternative procedures may be more apropos in your particular situation till that day when a natural face lift will be recommended.

Why Is the Surgeon Selection Process So Important ?

There are too many insufficiently trained doctors performing so-called "Lunch-Time Lift"s, "Weekend Lifts,  "Quick Lifts," etc. claiming they are non-invasive facelift miracles. The only miracle about these procedures is how much money they demand for doing little or nothing. Such procedures cut corners, and it's apparent in the facial results which often give you an unnatural look. The objective of a great facelift is to make you look like you did when you were younger; a natural more refreshed you, not a stretched version of your current features.

In some cases, such abbreviated procedures can be downright dangerous. In other cases like the Life Style Lift, although the procedure is invasive but cheap, the results are mediocre, and according to an online survey, 7 out of 10 people who had the procedure were dissatisfied. In other words, cheap surgery is usually not a good idea since you will have to live with the results for the rest of your life. And by the way, it's not so cheap, it's just the results that look cheap.

New twists and gimmicks seem to be invented all the time like the string or thread lift, a facelift that can supposedly be done in 30-minutes, quicker than having your teeth cleaned. In the procedure, sutures are inserted into the face and pulled tighter and tighter over the months to make the skin taut.

At one meeting of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, conducted by Dr. V. Leroy Young, a plastic surgeon in St. Louis, 198 out of 900 doctors said they had tried the technique, and 60 percent of them said they had experienced complications. In some cases, they said, the threads broke or popped out of the skin.

A Weekend Lift Performed by a Weekend-Trained Doctor

According to a New York Times article on the topic of thread lifts, "plastic and facial surgeons complain that many doctors who perform thread lifts - a group that includes not only plastic surgeons but also ophthalmologists, obstetricians and family practice physicians - have had little training in facial anatomy or surgery beyond the two-day course...". In the article, titled Mixed Results on a New Beauty fix (Natasha Singer, Dec. 1. 2005), Dr. Robert Singer, a plastic surgeon in La Jolla, Calif., said, "A physician who doesn't have full surgical knowledge and training could mistakenly get into structures like facial nerves that could cause problems like drooping and infection." Since the article was written, many Board Certified Plastic Surgeons continue to remain wary of the procedure and will not perform it given its spotty record.

Then there are the many non-surgical alternatives touted for facial improvement, like acupuncture, that have no anatomical basis. -- Such alternatives may help you feel better, but certainly not any better than taking the money spent on the procedure and spending it instead on a beautiful Caribbean vacation.

Summary

What we do is make sure that you consult only with board certified plastic surgeons who have great results, and this is not that easy. Look at all the qualifications that we require and you'll understand that very few plastic surgeons meet our minimum requirements.
